Also known as the Bureau of Lighthouses, the United States Lighthouse Service was responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all the lighthouses in the United States, from 1910 to 1939. The lighthouse in the middle of the emblem is surrounded by clouds, birds, waves, and two boats in the distance. The United States Lighthouse Service emblem adorned the original service china used by lighthouse keepers.
